Literacy Rate

The literacy rate of the district is 69.2 percent. The literacy rate is higher in urban area as compared to rural area. It is 77.9 per cent in urban area and 66.7 per cent in rural area. The male literacy rate (78.0) is also higher than that of female literacy rate (59.2). The gap between male and female literacy rate is of 18.8 points during 2011. In female literacy the district ranks at 18th position.
